What is supervision?
Clinical supervision is support and guidance through exploration to become competent in all areas of the social work field, both for macro or clinical. Each limited license social worker is instructed by a fully licensed social worker in order to gain knowledge in such topics that range from ethics, communication, treatment planning, case management, Etc.. The limited license social worker should be able to develop in both a professional and personal manner.
What is the requirement?
A Limited License Social worker has to have no less than 16 hours but no more than 40 hours a week. A LLMSW can earn up to 2,000 hours of social work experience per year.
How often does Clinical Supervision need to occur?
A supervisor review must be conducted at least 4 hours per month with at least 1 hour of individual review. Supervision also can be conducted in a group setting as long as 50% of the group supervision includes individual contact in which actions of limited license are reviewed.
What is the cost of supervision?
In the state of Michigan, there is no set fee for supervision services. For LLMSW contracting out supervision services, all fee’s should be negotiated with the LMSW and written into the supervision contract.
Location of supervision?
Supervision services are based out of Gentle Strength Counseling in Brighton, MI. However, negotiations for location can be discussed with LMSW.
